This is a quick lip that I threw together when I finished my Mardi Gras eyes. I used the MAC Magenta lip liner and Something New lipstick. I then drew on leopard spots using L'Oreal's Lineur Intense eyeliner. Enjoy!

Red Cherry Lashes From MadameMadeline.com

By Abigail Neel · February 20, 2011 · 0 Comments ·

So the other morning at 3am I was awake for no particular reason and started surfing the web and came across MadameMadeline.com. All of my favorite YouTube gurus use Red Cherry lashes and nowhere around here sells them so I was happy to find a reputable website where I could buy them for cheap. So at 3am, I ordered 6 pair of lashes. They were $1.99 a pair and there were so many coupons, I saved 20% on my order! The shipping was also cheap and fast. I paid $2 for first class shipping and my lashes were in my mailbox yesterday morning!! This service was awesome as well. I ordered at 3am and I received an email saying that my order had shipped by 11am!

Now onto the lashes....

Red Cherry lashes are 100% human hair and there are  SOOOOO many different styles. I can't wait to order more.

The first pair I got are the #1's.

#76

#106

#103

#102

#107

These lashes are amazing. I can't wait to try different looks using them and I definitely can't wait to try more. Check em out!!

Mardi Gras Eyes!!

|
By Abigail Neel · February 20, 2011 · 0 Comments ·

Since Mardi Gras is coming up, I decided to get festive and do a Mardi Gras inspired eye look and to use my new Red Cherry lashes that I ordered from MadameMadeline.com.. but more on those later!!! For this look  I used the typical Mardi Gras colors, gold, green, purple, and blue. I wanted to do more with my eyeliner but by the time i finished with the shadows, my eyes were red and watery from irritation. Kinda frustrating because no doctor can figure out what's wrong with my eyes!! Anyway I used my BH cosmetics palette and some Urban Decay shadows. Here's how I created this look.

Eyes: First I applied the green shadow over my entire lid. I then added the purple in my crease using the Mac #217 brush and blended down onto my lower lash line. Next I took the blue and blended on the inner crease and into the purple. One criticism about the BH Cosmetic palettes are that when you start blending the color, it disappears then you add more color and blend more and it disappears more. I will post a review for the 1st and 2nd edition palettes soon. Because the blue didn't want to stay put, I added Radium from the Urban Decay NYC palette on top and blended. In the inner corners I used Half Baked from the Urban Decay Naked Palette and added a shimmery gold from the BH Cosmetics palette on top. For a highlight color and to help blend, I took the light tan color from the Wet n Wild Greed palette. Next I used L'Oreal's Lineur Intense eyeliner in Carbon Black and used MAC's Feline Power Kohl in my lower water line. On my lower lash line I put the gold, blue, green and purple to follow the pattern on the lids. For effect I added the Red Cherry lashes #106 and Maybelline Falsies Mascara.

Lips: I used MAC's Magenta lip liner topped with Something New lipstick.

Face: Absolutely nothing, I got lazy!!

Dermalogica-My New Skin Care Routine Pt 1

|
By Abigail Neel · February 18, 2011 · 0 Comments ·

At the beginning of the year, Ulta had an amazing sale on their Dermalogica products. Since I had been wanting to try them for awhile (they're quite pricey!) I decided to take advantage of the sale and invest in some new products. One order turned into two more orders-I'm obsessed!!! These products are amazing and well worth the money. It seems like they're formulated exactly for my skin. I will review the products in the order I use them and will review the rest later this weekend.

PreCleanse

The Precleanse is an oil that is meant to be used pre-cleansing (duh!) but when I first encountered the product all I could think was "My face already has enough oil to open it's own Kentucky Fried Chicken why would I add more oil to it???" but for whatever reason I bought it anyway and it's actually an amazing product that smells like happy lemons while loosening up all the dirt, oil, and makeup on my face. I also noticed that it makes squeezing blackheads (gross right?) an easier job. After applying the oil to a dry face and massaging, I add a little water, per instructions, to create a lather and rinse. It smells SOO good that I never want to rinse it off! Price $34

Dermal Clay Cleanser

The Dermal Clay Cleanser is perfect for us with oily skin. It's creamy and smooth and works perfect with my Clarisonic. It contains menthol so it leaves skin feeling tingly (you know the "youknowitsworking" tingle) and doesn't leave skin tight or dry but well moisturized and clean. Unlike other Dermalogica products, it doesn't have a particularly delicious smell but it's not smelly or anything like that. Price $49

Multi-Active Toner

I never thought it would be possible for a toner to smell this good... actually ALL of these products smell amazing. I don't know what other way to describe the smell than happy lemons. Anyway, this toner is quite innovative due to the fact that you spray it on and don't wipe off. Environmentalists should be happy because we can now all stop wasting innocent cottons balls and pads by abusing our pores with alcohol based toners. The Multi-Active toner is lightweight and absorbs right into skin without any stickness. Price $31

Next Items (in part 2 post; Skin Clearing Booster, Microfoliant, Cream Exfoliant; part 3- Sebum Clearing Masque, Clearing Mattifying Gel, Oil Control Lotion)

Hello beauties!! I know I've been absent for awhile but I can explain!! I haven't been able to wear any makeup due to some new allergy that causes me to look like I have pink eye for about two days and then disappears :( I've also been working six days a week and going to school four days a week. I miss posting  A LOT and I promise (pinky promises are serious and not to be broken!!) to start posting again and I plan on doing a giveaway once I reach 20 followers! I have so much to talk about that you will probably get sick of me flooding your inbox but it's good stuff I promise! So look forward to hearing from me for my next post VERY soon!

Xoxo

Purple Haze

This is the first look I've done with my Urban Decay NYC palette and I love it! The colors are amazing. I was trying to decide what look would work with my MAC Style Curve Lipstick from the Stylishly Yours collection. After playing around with the lipstick a bit more, I decided that I need a good purple liner to go underneath since it seems to look more pink than purple (any recs?) Anyway, this is the look I came up with and I adore the way it makes my brown eyes POP! Enjoy!

First I applied the NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Slate all over the lid, careful not go into the crease too much. I then applied Urban Decay's Rockstar eyeshadow all over the lid and down on the lower lash line and blended up towards the crease. In the inner corner I applied the Urban Decay eyeshadow in Psychedelic Sister ( a beautiful bright purple!) and blended with Rockstar. I then added Perversion in the outer corner to darken it up and make it appear more smoky. On the brow bone i applied Urban Decay Last Call and blended down towards the black and purple colors on the lid. As the highlight I used Virgin from the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I used the L'oreal Lineur Intense Eyeliner on the top lashline and UD Zero on the waterline. I applied UD's Psychedelic Sister on the lower lash line on top of the Rockstar e/s. On my face I used my MAC Mineralize Foundation and Margin blush on my cheeks. For the lips, I applied Style Curve lipstick.

Happy New Year Dolls!!! I know I've been MIA for awhile but life has been hectic (who's isnt?). I just moved to a fabulous new apartment and that literally took two weeks. I'm all settled now and ready to give you my undivided :)

I love this time of year because I tell everyone to buy me Sephora giftcards for Christmas and here's what I bought-

Urban Decay NYC Book of Shadows Vol. 3

This is my 1st book of shadows and my 2nd Urban Decay palette since the Naked palette. I have already been impressed by Urban Decay's shadows from the Naked palette but these have completely blown me away. This palette comes with 16 eyeshadows, 2 24/7 liners( Ransom- a violet purple and Zero- extremely pigmented deep black)and a UDPP. None of these colors disappoint, they are incredibly pigmented and are long lasting. The pop-up is a cute addition and it has a mirror. Should I have expected any less from Urban Decay? They always deliver!

MAC Stylishly Yours Collection

Something New Lipstick

Something New is a creamy bright blue pink with an Amplified finish. This is the only thing from the collection that I planned on getting.. It spoke to my heart.

Style Curve Lipstick

Style Curve is a Cremesheen finish that is a bright clean violet purple. I didn't love it until I swatched it on my hand and I purchased this before the Something New lipstick that I anticipated getting.

MakeUp Forever HD Powder & MAC 222 Brush

This finished powder does what it says it's going to- keep me matte while making my skin look flawless. I applied this over my NARS Sheer Matte foundation and didn't have any strange white casts showing up in pictures yet my pores looked small and my skin looked even and HD quality. I bought a small jar because I didn't want to spend $30 on it without knowing that it would indeed make me look this good!

I bought the MAC 222 eye shadow blending brush for a more defined crease.

NARS Orgasm Illuminator

I already love the Orgasm blush by Nars but I had my doubts about the Illuminator.  Products like this make me nervous because I have oily skin and I feel like when I start to get greasy this might make me look like a big shiny disco ball. I got it for free for having so many Beauty Insider points but I haven't tried it out yet. You'll be the first to know when I do!

MAC Feline Power Kohl

This is the reason I woke up early the day after Christmas to hit the mall for. This eyeliner makes the blogosphere go bananas, I had to see what the hype was about.  It is indeed the blackest eyeliner I've ever used. I haven't worn it on my lash line yet but I put it on my waterline for NYE and it didn't budge!

What'd you get for Christmas? I'd love to hear!!

Night Elf

I somehow came across The Original QueenBMakeup page on YouTube and found this holiday inspired look using the Wet n Wild Color Icon palettes in Night Elf and Snow Sprite. Check out the link to the original look:http://theoriginalqueenbmakeup.blogspot.com/2010/12/holiday-look-feat-wet-wild-cosmetics.html

I think this would have been a stronger look if I would've used a base but I didn't :(

Here's how I got the look

-Gold from Night Elf palette under brow bone

-Two tone Green and Brown from Night Elf palette in crease

-Shimmery Black from Night Elf palette in outer corner

- Red from Night Elf palette on lid

- Cream from Night Elf palette as highlight and inner corner

-Light green from Snow Sprite palette on inner 1/3 of line

-Dark green from Snow Sprite palette on outer 1/3 of lower lash line

-L'Oreal Carbon Black Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner on upper lash line

-Wet n Wild Black Eyeliner in water line

-Maybelline The Falsies Mascara in Very Black
